A very compact command line chess game (windows XP, 7, 8, 10 or higher).

Introduction

µChess plays chess in 4 different levels. With its 72 kB it is probably one of the smallest chess programs in the world. It recognizes about 77 great chess openings.

You can download µChess 2.0.0 here. After downloading, install the software, run µChess and type '?' for help.

µChess mini Tutorial

Make a valid move (example: g1f3, o-o, o-o-o) or use one of these commands:

a(uto): let computer play against itself
p(ass): skip turn
l(evel): 1=easy,2,3,4=difficult
h(int): let computer make your move
n(ew): restart new game
d(raw): redraw chessboard
s(witch): change sides
u(ndo): undo last move
q(uit): exit game
